About the Director

Héctor Ricardo Alvarez was born in
Venezuela on January 3rd, 1972. There, he
earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology
in 1993. After graduating, he worked for
three years for an international
organization that assists the homeless
around the world, and also worked as a
counselor in a well-respected private clinic.
He moved to the United States in 1999 and
became fluent in English. Eventually
earned a certification as a Licensed Master
Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic
Programming™ in Chicago, IL and became
certified as a Conversational
Hypno-therapist. In March 2004, Hector
started his own private practices as a
consultant and trainer in areas of
language/communication, multicultural
development and personal growth. He also
worked at Centro Hispano of Dane County
as the coordinator for a program that
assisted Latino teens involved in the
Juvenile Justice System, and there he
successfully lead preventive and
educational programs. Today he is the
director of
JUVENTURA
A Young Community, A Big Dream!!



JUVENTURA, a program that seeks to
empower Latino youth through
multicultural art, cultural competence
and education in Madison, WI.

Héctor is also a freelance artist. He has
been a recipient of prizes as a
cartoonist. He enjoys writing, song
writing and playing the guitar and the
Venezuelan Cuatro.
